Guess who is a new Accredited Wedding Photographer?

As you all know I took the jump last year and joined the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) association. When you first join, you are given "observer" level status and are given the option to upgrade to full Accredited membership at anytime by earning a National Accreditation. In the midst of my wedding rush this fall, I put together a few of my favorite images, crossed my fingers and sent off my first accreditation submission. I wasn't expecting anything except for some constructive feedback from the judges (and that in itself scared the pants off me)!

Well, today I got an email from the PPOC office saying that all my images were accepted and that my Wedding Accreditation submission was successful!!

To attain this Accreditation, one has to submit 10 prints in a specified category. These prints are evaluated by a panel of professional photographers. They are looking for photographers who are capable of delivering above average quality photography and are assessed based on qualities such as.... Impact … Creativity … Style … Composition … Presentation … Color Balance … Centre of Interest … Lighting … Subject Matter … Print Quality … Technique …

I'm so excited. This means that I an now an Accredited Member of the PPOC (and I can use the logo). A big thanks for my clients and family!!!!
